Discover Pizzicletta

If you're ever in Flagstaff, Arizona, and craving a delicious, fresh meal with a cozy ambiance, Pizzicletta should be at the top of your list. Located at 203 W Phoenix Ave, Flagstaff, AZ 86001, this quaint spot has quickly become a local favorite, offering not just great food, but a unique dining experience that blends authenticity with a touch of modern flair.

From the moment you walk in, Pizzicletta welcomes you with its warm, inviting atmosphere. It's not your typical large, bustling restaurant-it's an intimate spot where you can enjoy great pizza without feeling overwhelmed by noise. The rustic charm of the place, complete with wooden tables and an open kitchen, creates a sense of home that makes it easy to settle in and enjoy your meal.

What stands out about Pizzicletta is its commitment to quality ingredients and craftsmanship. Every pizza on the menu is a work of art. The dough is prepared using traditional methods, allowing it to rise slowly and develop a rich, flavorful texture. The toppings are simple but high quality, making every bite a perfect balance of flavors. The wood-fired oven adds a smoky depth to each pizza, giving it a crisp, slightly charred crust that’s hard to beat.

One of the best things about dining at Pizzicletta is the variety of options available, whether you're in the mood for something classic like a Margherita or want to try something more adventurous. For example, their “Sausage & Kale” pizza is a local favorite, featuring a savory blend of spicy sausage and fresh kale that perfectly complements the gooey mozzarella. If you're vegetarian, the “Mushroom & Truffle” pizza is a must-try, combining earthy mushrooms with a subtle truffle oil for a truly indulgent experience.

Aside from pizzas, Pizzicletta also offers a selection of delicious sides and salads that complement the main dishes perfectly. Their “Simple Greens” salad, for instance, is fresh, light, and a great way to start your meal. The attention to detail in both the food and the service is impressive, as the staff ensures that every customer feels welcome and well taken care of.

The beverage menu is just as carefully curated. Whether you're a fan of craft beers, artisanal sodas, or an excellent glass of wine, you'll find something to pair with your meal. The wine list, for example, is full of unique selections that have been chosen to enhance the flavors of the pizzas. It's evident that the staff at Pizzicletta is knowledgeable about their menu, offering recommendations that perfectly match your food choices.

One thing that sets this place apart is the sense of community it fosters. Regulars and newcomers alike feel like part of the Pizzicletta family. The owners and staff are passionate about the food they serve and are always eager to share their knowledge about pizza making, from the type of wood they use in the oven to the way they craft their dough. This dedication to craft and quality is what makes Pizzicletta not just another pizza joint but a standout in Flagstaff's dining scene.

It’s also worth noting that Pizzicletta is often praised for its laid-back yet lively vibe. It’s the perfect place for a casual night out with friends or a cozy dinner for two. Given its popularity, it’s a good idea to make a reservation, especially on weekends, as the space fills up quickly. Despite the small size of the restaurant, it manages to offer a warm, personal experience that larger chains can’t replicate.

For those who are particular about their pizza and appreciate the artistry behind it, Pizzicletta is a must-visit. It’s not just about eating; it’s about experiencing food made with passion and care. Whether you’re a local or just passing through Flagstaff, the delicious food, friendly service, and welcoming atmosphere make it a standout spot that will have you coming back again and again.

  • Came here after the Grand Canyon and hit the spot. Got a beer and a large pizza and it and was perfect for 2 people. Pictured is the flagstaff pizza and the pizza came out super fresh and hot. Prices were very affordable and staff were friendly. Highly recommend to check to place out if in the area.

  • Best most friendly service and pizzas are always executed PERFECTLY. It seems the employees really care and seem happy. The crust is the best I’ve had from any pizza place, chewy, crispy, doesn’t go limp and soggy when you pick up a slice. Almost has a sourdough flavor, very good flavor. The sauce is the best, fresh and sweet not overseasoned. They don’t put excessive cheese (I may be one of the few people who do not like tons of cheese on the pizza, but let the crust, sauce, and toppings shine through. Can’t stand when the cheese is thicker than the actual crust!). The pepperonis are the little thick cups and they get it super crispy. The crust wasn’t burnt ( I hate burnt crust which happens often with wood fired pizza). I can’t believe I’m just discovering this place now. Our usual wood fired pizza place in Flagstaff has gone downhill in quality and they’re always so busy they sometimes don’t even take your order. Pizzicletta is much better anyways!

  • Great little pizza place in Flagstaff. If you like neapolitan style, they do a nice job. I had the Diavola but didn’t read the ingredients well and would have loved it without the honey. It wasn’t too spicy. The dough was chewy. Nice pepperoni. I picked up.

  • Pizza connoisseur here. Excellent pizza, extremely fast cook = extremely hot beautiful wood-fired oven. Crust was 4.5 stars. I would prefer it was coworker maybe 10-15 more seconds to be a little bit crispier with some light char underneath. As another commenter stated, the dough might lack some glueten strength to create the bubbles, and it resulted in a slightly heavy undercooked crust. But still I devoured the whole thing. Good toppings. I got the Diavolo with honey chili on the side. I used it sparingly for just a bit of kick, but I don’t like spicy hot pizza so that was good. I think this pie, without the honey chili, but added basil would be perfect. I would definitely come back for another pie. The place is small so don’t expect a lot of seating, but it’s nice though a bit spartan. If the weather is nice there is some extra outside seating.

  • We started with the Rosemary Focaccia appetizer and shared the Diavola pizza. The chili oil on the pizza was the perfect finishing touch! Everything was amazing. We even had room left for a scoop of their homemade Salted Caramel gelato, which tasted just like a Werther’s candy! We’re definitely coming back to try more of their menu!

  • Giving this a 5 for FLAVOR let's talk about food shall we Pizza has almost been ruined for me because I've had the most delicious fired pie in Italy As a result a return to the states has left my pizza palate a little flat and then came along this place We ordered the DIAVOLA A bit bold for someone who is terrified of spice but the crisp chili, soothing sweetness of honey, and light crispy brick crust was a surprising delight I don't know what I was expecting nor did I ever think I'd find it in Flagstaff but this spot is so good I can't wait to take my friend who is from Italy there for the experience The venue is small so if you're a large party you may need to split up. I love that they have a community table. The pleasure of eating delicious pizza amongst smiling strangers was refreshing. They do offer some outside seating but again keep in mind this venue is small I did see a lot of people ordering their gelato flight and they all seemed pretty happy with their selections Highly recommend the DIAVALO even if you're afraid of spicy foods you won't be disappointed

  • Good stuff! We sat outside on the patio, which is the only way to go in summer in Flagstaff. The vibe was great, the service was wonderful and the pizza was extraordinary! We got a red sauce pizza and a white sauce pizza. Both were fantastic. They both had a twist to the classic that set them apart. Its thin crust pizza yet not crispy. Seating is a bit limited even though its a big place due to a really large table inside that takes up a lot of space.
